GOVERNMENT DEGREE COLLEGE,SIDDIPET,MEDAK DISTRICT


            IT’S A PRIVILEGE TO HAVE GOOD CINEMA ENVIRONMENT IN THE COLLEGE CAMPUS
-Principal assured to start a film club in next academic year

 ‘In addition to normal academic activities it will be a privilege to have good cinema screenings in the college campus,  it will give cultural exposure   to the students’ said Dr.Nageshwar, Principal of the Govt. Degree and PG college, Siddipet.
    One day film society workshop was conducted in the college on 31 January 2009 by Varala Anand and organized by the Asian Film Foundation and Federation of Film Societies of India.
    While inaugurating the workshop Dr.Nageshwar said his college in based in the heart of the southern Telangana and having a rich literary heritage.  So they really interested to initiate a film club in the next academic year.
    Dr.Nandini Sidda Reddy, Head Department Telugu and famous poet, said that the prevailing literary activities in the college may be amalgamated with the good cinema. He further opined that promoting good cinema will definitely enrich the students with values.    
    The Principal speaker in the workshop Mr.Varala Anand explained the role of Telangana in Telugu Film industry and impressed upon the importance of film society movement. He also given a PowerPoint presentation on the history of cinema.
    A total of 73 students attended the workshop. The students participation in the workshop was lively and they interacted with the resource person.
    Later a film “Maa Vooru” made on Telangana village was screened to the students
    In post screening session the students asked clarifications regarding the film societies
