SRUJANA FILM CLUB INAUGURATED IN VISAKHAPATNAM
To inculcate art and aesthetic appreciation among students 'srujana film club' is inaugurated in V.S.KRISHNA Government Degree and PG College,Visakhapatnam on 19 February 2011.
While inaugurating the club Aanand Varala, Secretary,Federation of Film Societies of India(lecturer in library science,SRR Government Degree and PG College,Karimnagar) said that film as a visual media may be taken as a career also and the students may learn the art and craft of cinema with the film club programme. Students can be able watch cinema of international repute
and see how the cinema can be used for the social change.The college Principal Dr.Murthy said that the club is being started on the guidelines of the CCE and it will cater to the needs of students in selecting the media as their career and the club will give them a rare opportunity to see world classics. The honorary secretary of Visakhapatnam film society Mr.Narava Prakash Rao said that
students should be able feel the good cinema and they are ready to organise workshops in film making in the campus.
Mr.P.v.Ramana, other faculty members spoke on the occasion.Few students expressed their feeling about cinema as feed back.
Mr.Aanand Varala presented a power point show on the world cinema.

'SANKALPAM' STUDENT SHORT FILM RELEASED
'SANKALPAM'a short film made by Mr.Santhosh Kumar a student of the college Dr.K.MURALI, Principal of SRR Government Degree and PG College released ON 10-02-2011.
The course coordinator Aanand Varala, Senior faculty member R.Vinaya sagar and the film director Santhosh Kumar P. attended the programmes
A 17 mins short film is made as the diploma film of the certificate course being conducted by the SATYAJIT RAY FILM CLUB of the college.
The film based on a story of a student who failed in examinaions and trying to suicide himself but came out that mood and gets success in the supplementary
exams.
The film was well received by the sudiance.

FILM SCREENING AT SATYAJIT RAY FILM CLUB
Satyajit Ray Film Club of SRR GOVERNMENT DEGREE AND PG COLLEGE, KARIMNAGAR
screened the Golden Nandi Award winning Telugu film of 2009
'SONTHA VOORU' to the students of our college on the occasion of Republic day celebrations on 26-01-2011
in the seminar hall.
It won best film award,best actress award,best character actor award and best dialogue award by the state government
'Sontha Vooru' is the first of kind in Telugu cinema which dealt SEZ subject directed by Sunil Kumar Reddy.
The film was well received by the students and faculty.
College Principal Dr.K.Murali, Senior lecturer Sanjeev, Club Convener Aanand Varala and others were present.

TWO SHORT FILMS RELEASED AT SATYAJIT RAY FILM CLUB, KARIMNAGAR
Satyajit Ray film Club of SRR Government Degree College, Karimnagar released Two short films in the first week of January 2011. First Film 'Awakening' directed by two students Mr.Siddish and Abhinash Reddy. The film dealt with the ideology of Swamy Vivekananda. And the second film entitled "Juothi' made by Mr.Ramu Balmoori dealt with a subject to a woman who stood committed for her mentally disabled children.
These films were released by the Joint Collector of the district Mr.Sunder Abnar, IAS and the college Principal Dr.K.Murali. Mr.Abnar said on this occassion that the energies embedded in the youth should be streamlined and made useful for the society. Principal Murali advised the students to explore their capabilities using the infrastructure available in the college campus. The Secretary of FFSI Aanand Varala said that the Satyajit ray film club organising a certificate course in film making in the campus and students are being trained in film making and making aware of film appreciation. Faculty members Dr.T.Damodara Swamy,C.Laxman, Dr.Manohara Swamy, Radhakrishnamurhty,S.Gangadhar,R.Vinaya Sagar and students participated in the meeting
